Terms of Service
Last updated October 10, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Shardforge Studios ("we", "us") about Shardlands Arena: the game, the desktop client and this website (together, "the game"). By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms, the Rules and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the game.
1. Who can play
- You must be at least 13 years old to have an account.
- In some places younger players need a parent or legal guardian's approval before they can play: under 16 in Europe (EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland), under 18 in Brazil, and under 16 in Louisiana (USA). A parent or guardian who approves an account agrees to these terms for the player and is responsible for how the account is used.
- The date of birth and country you give must be true. Accounts created with false age details may be closed.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in details secret. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Admins and moderators will never ask for your password.
- One person per account. Don't share, sell, buy or trade accounts, and don't play on someone else's.
- Your username must follow the Rules: nothing offensive, and nothing that pretends to be staff or someone else.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time from Your account and data.
3. Rules and conduct
Follow the Rules. They cover how to treat other players, chat, leaving matches, dodging, cheating and reports, and the penalties for breaking them. In short: play fair, be respectful, stay in your matches and don't cheat. Don't try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get unauthorised access to the game, its servers or other players' accounts, and don't use bots, scripts or modified game files.
4. Your content
- Things you send in the game, such as chat messages, reports and bug reports, remain yours. You give us permission to store, display and use them to run the game, keep it safe, review reports and fix problems.
- Don't send anything illegal, hateful, threatening, sexual, or anything that shares personal information. Chat automatically blocks links, email and street addresses, and code.
- Staff may read match chat and watch match replays when reviewing reports, cheating flags and bugs.
5. Our game
Shardlands Arena, including its code, champions, art, sound, music and names, belongs to Shardforge Studios. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable permission to install the desktop client and play the game for your own non-commercial use. You may share screenshots and videos of your play. You may not copy, sell or redistribute the game or its parts, or build a competing service from them.
6. Virtual items
Gold, items, ladder points, ranks and anything else you earn in the game have no real-world money value, can't be exchanged for money and belong to the game, not to you. They can change or be reset, for example when a new season starts. The game is free to play and we don't sell anything in it.
7. Penalties and bans
If you break these terms or the Rules, we may warn you, add queue penalties, reduce ladder points, temporarily or permanently ban your account, ban the internet address you use, or delete the account. Most penalties are explained on the Rules page. If you think a decision was wrong, contact us (see below).
8. Changes and availability
- We update the game often: champions, balance, maps and features can change, and older versions stop working.
- The game is run on our own servers. It may be offline for maintenance or problems, and we may close it in the future. We will try to give notice on the website.
- We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top; if the changes are important we will also tell you on the website or in the game. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.
9. Disclaimers and limits
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, free of bugs, or that progress will never be lost. To the extent the law allows, Shardforge Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost progress, and our total liability to you for anything to do with the game is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (the game is free, so normally zero). Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer laws that can't be limited.
10. Ending this agreement
You can stop playing and ask us to delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the Rules, or if we close the game. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota, USA, except where the laws of the place you live give you rights that can't be changed by agreement.
